This committee is responsible for carrying out the various activities of the club that develop and build on community relationships.

The subcommittees in this area include:

Bingo
This committee runs monthly Bingos at the Ellington Senior's Centre and The Royal on Gordon.  They co-ordinate volunteers for the evenings, ensure snacks at the end of the evening and gift bags during the Christmas season.

Paint Your Heart Out
This is a one-day painting/cleaning/gardening blitz undertaken to assist needy seniors and/or disabled persons.  The committee members locate eligible properties by advertising in the local paper and working with other local service agencies.  Volunteers (club members, families and friends) then gather for a Saturday in May to complete the required tasks at each home.

Fred Black Scholarship:
Each year the committee works with the 7 high schools in Guelph to select on student going on to a community college program.  Each recipient will receive a scholarship of $500 and a small plaque at their graduation ceremony.  The schools are charged with selecting the appropriate student and a representative of our club makes the presentation.  The students are also asked to come speak to the Club.

University of Guelph Co-op Marketing Scholarship
The committee will work with the University of Guelph Marketing program to select a student based on academic performance and feedback from employers during their work term.  The scholarship is awarded in the fall of each year and has a value of $1,000.

Camp Enterprise:
Camp Enterprise is a 3 day workshop/seminar event for high school students that takes place at the University of Waterloo during the first week of May each year.  The Chair of this Committee works with the District 7080 committee to help coordinate the event.  Our club normally selects 6 or 7 students from area schools who would like to learn more about starting and running a business.  The club committee advertises, interviews, and selects the students and arranges for their transportation to and from Waterloo.

Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA):
RYLA is a week long, intensive training program for community youth leaders.  Talented young people (18-24 years of age) have a unique opportunity to get to know themselves better and to cultivate the respect and truth of others.  Through this program they are able to identify their own leadership skills and determine ways to make effective use of their resources.  The club committee advertises and then interviews potential candidates and selects the best student with leadership qualities to attend.  The club covers the cost for the student to attend.
